County Fair Report (07/012/10)Posted Monday, July 12, 2010 County Fair Report The Jersey County Fair at Jerseyville concluded Sunday afternoon with three more Mid-Western Racing Association stakes and driver-trainer Graham Ross, Jr. posted his third winner of the seven contested events in the two days of racing when he steered No Mind Reader to a winning debut in the MWIRA 2-Year-Old Trot by a romping 22-length margin in 2:06.3. Ross shares ownership of the home-bred son of Physic Spirit with breeders Ron and Deloris Phillips and John Carver . . . Larry and Karen Walker’s April Brook stayed hot, notching her third consecutive triumph in the MWIRA sophomore pace division with a new lifetime mark of 1:59.4. The Mark Walker trainee was six lengths the best for driver Mark Walker . . . The 3-Year-Old Colt division saw Carol Graham’s Enra race first over when he took his four straight victory in 2:03 flat with Tom Graham Jr. . . . Racing at the Fairview Fair, which concluded Monday, had no less than 13 events on its program with a trio of Free For All Paces going to Princess Abgail (Darry Birch) in 2:04.1, Fort Hamilton (Shawn Nessa) in 2:02 and the seven-year-old mare Tinkers Damn (Michael Knicley) in 2:01.1 . . . The three Free For All Trot winners were Good Ride Cowboy (Tannor Splittier) in 2:03.2, King La Conch (Buddy Simpson), a 26-length romp in the park in 2:02, and Lane’s Game (JD Finn) easily in 2:04 . . . Buddy Simpson also brought home the two-year-old Somecam in the seventh race maiden event with a 2:04.3 mile. . . Antonio Love also had a driving double, first winning with the state-bred 2-year-old filly Fox Valley Vanita (2:06.2) in a maiden race for Curtis Rice, and later with the second season mare Scent Sensation (2:08.4) in the first division condition trot for owner Sally Watts and trainer Tom D Tetrick.
